Therapeutic Model

We commission therapeutic assessment, therapeutic work and therapeutic modelling in our homes from Younger Mind. Younger Mind is part of North Staffs Mind which is affiliated to National Mind. Younger mind provide highly trained practitioners with varied therapeutic orientations and experiences of working with Children and Young People. Through this we pride ourselves on a client led service that envelops the ever changing needs of the Children and Young. We believe that given the right environment and conditions Children and Young people can grow and develop a healthy emotional self which in turn builds emotional resilience and leads to a more stable emotional well being.

As a CAMHS service we deliver into tiers 1, 2, 3 and 3+

Younger Mind believes counselling does not have be about 'two chairs and box of tissues.' In fact for most Children this is the last thing they need, particularly those Children who have had challenging life experiences. We believe through working in alternative ways it provides a much more relaxed approach to therapy engenders positive long term change and encourages growth through positive relationships. This is achieved by:

• Out-reach;
• Service delivered within the needs of the individual Young Person;
• 'Out of the box' experiences i.e.: walking, cooking, art etc.;
• Support, guidance and sign posting;
• Group approach;
• Consultancy to staff;
• Training and support to staff.
